MB : MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum - Fully loaded and equipped with nForce3 250Gb chipset
PSU : Antec TruePower 430W (I never heard of "Vibe Antec"???)
MEMORY : OCZ 3500EB or 3700EB (2x512) - OCZ "EB" series is the best ram for Athlon 64 and FX.

From what I read, money is no object for you!

I built a similar system in early July.

AMD Athalon 64Fx-53
Asus A8V Deluxe VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset ATX AMD MB
1 Gig of OCZ 3500 unbuffered Ram
2 Western Digital 74 Gig Raptors in Raid 1
DVD ASUS 16X DVD
DVD+/-RW PLEXTOR|PX-712A
CPU FAN SPIRE|SP703C3-1 KK3 AMD
Cooler Master Wave Master Case with an Aspire Turbo 500 watt power supply.
M-Audio Revolution sound card

Your specs seem fine to me. Still waiting on an X800XT. Read my woes in the Videocard section here.

You'll want 22-25a on the 12v rail at least. Try this one

I fully agree with TheRod. The MSI mobo K8N Neo2 Platinum with is a superior model than the mobo from Asus. However, I checked the MSI site and it says the chipset is nForce3 Ultra.

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=607

I then checked the nVidia site and there too only nForce3 Ultra (so what happened to the nForce3 250Gb?? - I know it exists), is this the new name for the old chipset?

Thanks.

Okay, got the confusion cleared some. The AMD FX-53 is either a socket 940 of 939, right. The MSI K8N Platinum and K8N Neo-FSR has the nforce3 250gb chipset, but is a socket 754 motherboard (not for the AMD FX-53 but for AMD 64, socket 754). http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=572

Now the socket 939 motherboard (for AMD FX-53) from MSI with the nvidia chipset is called K8N Neo2 Platinum, but the chipset is the nvidia Nforce3 Ultra and not the nforce3 250Gb.

Thanks.

You really deserve it then!!!

Yes, the MSI K8N Neo<b>2</b> Platinum is a Socket939 MB.

Read this review of S939 MB :
