hello... just need some info... i'm planning to buy a Athlon 900 with an Asus A7V133 board. Will this be a good choice for overclocking? I would like to be able to overclock to at least 1050. Thanks, Jon.
Yes that will bee good setup for oc also you will want to take advantage of the 133 fsb so if you do not have pc133 or very good pc100 (ie can run 133) get some pc133. to get more bang for your buck you may want to look into the duron.
Buy a AMD Tbird A1000APT3C 200/266 Mhz FSB(This is the new one)with blue core color(= Cupper interconnects).
a ABIT KT7A mobo or the +raid.
and 128Mb PC133 mem modules (they are very cheap at the moment)
I have a 900 tbird and A7V but was unable to hit 1050 stable.
So I had to settle for 1 gig, I think my CPU was a dud. Just remember there is no guarantee so buy the speed u can live with right of the bat, then any extra speed form OCing is a bonus.
