[SOLVED] New WD SN550 NVME 1TB ssd isnt showing in bios, Device manger, or disc manager

Hi there, i just got a new ssd today and its not showing up anywhere. I got a WD SN550 nvme ssd. My MOBO is the Asus strix z370-e mother board, ive tried multiple things in the bios including enablign the hyperx m.2 among other things without any sucess. Ive also updated the bios and same thing, no sucess. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get my computer to read the SSD

check in bios

1. Select Serial ATA and press Enter.
2. Then you’ll see SATA Controller Mode Option. Choose the IDE Compatibility Mode.
3. save and exit

In BIOS sata controller mode has to be set to AHCI (not Intel RST with Optane).
Make sure, it's set appropriately.

Do not use IDE Compatibility Mode for sata controller mode.

I don’t see serial ata anywhere. I found the sata controller and its options are enable and disable. And the sata mode selection is ahci or intel rst premium

No, i dont know how to dine the storage controller drivers, when i search it up i dont get anything

Go first in device manager and look in list

I did that, and when i click update drivers it says theyre up to date

Did u check disk managment if see him format that ssd

Then u must go back in bios ☺.. R u correctly connect ssd?

Try resetting your bios by removing the CMOS battery maybe that will help.

IDE interface is mostly used for old HDD it will work with any HDD, but I heard that it can effect speeds.
