Question New Western Digital drive makes high-pitched whirring noise when stopping. Is this normal?

Just installed this new WD Blue 4TB HDD. It makes this sound every time it stops, such as on shut down, sleep, and sometimes when idle. I've done some research and this seems to be a fairly common issue, although I could not find an answer on whether this is normal or a cause for concern.
