I recently updated my motherboard and cpu. I reinstalled windows on my ssd, it has the new windows install and all my old stuff in windows.old.
I also have a hdd with only the old install of windows on it.
Before the new install the ssd and hdd were the same (ssd a clone of the hdd).
I want to keep my ssd as clean as possible, so I want to delete the windows.old file from there.
My question is how should I proceed to set up my computer to have the OS on the ssd and all my other files, programmes, games, etc available on the hdd?
Will my new install of windows 7 be able to recognise and use the files/programmes/games on my hdd?
I was thinking of trying to retrieve the files from windows.old on my ssd, then formatting my hdd, moving those files onto the now empty hdd. That seems like a roundabout way of doing things, but maybe it is the best way?
