Customer satisfaction and integrity are at the core of our business

"Customer satisfaction and integrity SHOULD HAVE BEEN at the core of our business"

FTFY

As I'm in the UK I've never ordered from Newegg but am familiar with the name for many years now. It used to be recommended all over the place and seemed to be the default option but I guess a few things have changed which is a shame.

I make an effort now to order from Scan or Ebuyer in the UK rather than Amazon even if the price is not as good because I want these places to survive. My own PC building experience started with visiting Microdirect in Manchester UK which is sadly long since closed. Comes to something when the most realistic bricks and mortar place to buy something nearby is a "Currys PC World".... I guess there are good reasons for that but it is still a shame.

Yep, I'll definitely agree with you there. I usually avoid 3rd party . . and for Amazon and NewEgg, if they are an unfamiliar name, I check to see if they're located in the US (where I am), or in China.

Now, Aukey and Mpow are in China, but, I didn't see them as a risk because they're established brands. And, ugh, I have seen both those particular seller names you mentioned, and that was a big "nope" for me!

Yeah I'm US too (Southern California) and I am usually good at spotting when something is a scam or legit. I will admit that I have been burned a few times by Amazon minion sellers and I didn't think about it until I purchased a memory card for my phone that was labeled 256GB, it was actually an 8GB. I contacted SanDisk technical support about it and the tech guy told me that their serial numbers didn't match. I returned it and bought a Samsung card instead.
