I'm not so thrilled with Newegg.
I bought a Sony DVD burner from them, and about a year later, started having problems with it. I went to the Sony web site to download the latest firmware and drivers, and found the drive model not mentioned there. I contacted Sony customer service, and they told me that they would not provide any support for an OEM drive, and that I would have to get drivers and firmware from the OEM. Since Newegg sold the unit, I guessed that Newegg was the OEM. Come to find out however, Newegg does not provide any support for the things that they sell. No software, no firmware, no nothing.
This means that I have a drive that Sony doesn't even admit that they made. I can't get owners manuals, drivers or firmware. And Newegg won't support it either.
Newegg apparently buys closeout lots of stuff that manufacturers bought, and then sold as surplus material. The stuff is essentially OEM gray market.
The worst part is that Newegg doesn't mention this fact when you're placing orders.
