Newly built comp, but doesnt turn on

I just installed the cpu and fan before adding this thread. What can be the issue? I double checked all the wires. The fan lights and the actual fans turn on for a second then turn off. you wanna remove all memory sticks and try boot with out the memory.

Thanks for the reply, ive already went through that step by step guide. A lot of people say it may be because a bad psu, but i just pulled that psu right out of my old working computer. Im so lost.

Before i put my mobo into the cpu case i attached everything to it, and attached the psu to it. But the same issue happened there. Then once i put the mobo into the case, i re wired everything and it still doesn't work.

Ok if it did not work outside the case it will not inside, if you have a case speaker remove everything except CPU try should beep because of lack of ram, then install ram and connect monitor to your onboard!

I just did the paperclip in the psu experiment (one end in the green and one end on the black), and the same error happened. It worked for a sec then turned off. What does that mean?

Unless you have a high quality unit with none turning fan on low loads then the PSU is bad.
