I just finished installing the parts to the computer I'm building and nw I am running into problems. At first everything started off good, put my os disk into the cd-rom drive and the files started loading. The problem occurs when it starts loading the pci bus. At this point my computer just shuts down. When I try starting it up again I get a four beep code, two different tones that, eg 1 2 1 2, then a blank screen for about 30 secs - 1 min then the computer shuts down again.

I've tried taking the RAM out and placing it in different slots but I still get nothing. Once or twice I was able to get it to start up and start loading again just to have it fail. I don't know what to try next.

System specs:
Intel mobo 915pbl
Pentium 4 550
512 Corsair pro 4300 ddr2 ram
200GB western digital sata hard drive
PCI Express video card
Windows XP professional

That sounds like a voltage alarm. If it were a heat alarm, the system should start back up after a cooling down period.

What power supply are you using?

Post your full system specs, I have the same CPU and chipset. There really isnt that much detailed info on these CPU's. They are pretty much a dead end in the CPU world, but if they are set up properly, they can really put out the RPM's
