Hello, I do not know a lot about computers, so hopefully this all makes sense. I've been searching all over online for a solution, but am still unsure on what is causing my issue and it has been frustrating, so I hope someone can help me.
I recently built a PC with my brother's help in the beginning of April 2024 (built exactly from this guide), but have been having issues with the computer shutting off while playing F*rtnite. I'm always able to load up the game, but anywhere from 5-20 minutes into a match, the game is likely to shut off the computer with no prior warning. When this happens, the monitor disconnects and the lights stay on inside and around the PC's power button. This issue occurs regardless whether or not I'm running other programs like Discord. Also, this has never occurred outside of playing (I've only experienced it during that game as I do not play many intensive games).
Things I've tried:
When this issue first occurred, we looked at the how the temperatures were performing throughout a match and nothing stood out as alarming or irregular. Next, because of the temperatures seeming to be fine and many people seem to state it's likely a PSU issue, I RMA'd my PSU and just received a brand new one of the same model yesterday, installed it, but then the issue is still occuring. I have also updated the BIOS, but that did not make any difference. This issue only started occurring in May, but before then I did not have any issues with the PC shutting off while gaming. Also received a recommendation and tried doing "sfc /scannow" and the 4 fixes mentioned in this post.
Also if this is helpful, on the Windows Event Viewer, when I reboot I noticed the Event ID 131 (which says " Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF}' ") many times after each time it crashes.
Please let me know if any more info is needed.
