Hey guys and gals, this is my first gaming pc! Now there are a few things I will need to cover up, before I give you the part list. The motherboard, is NOT the best, by ANY means. If you take a look closely at the build, I will be installing a side fan to blow directly on to the mobo, adding a heat sink too it (since it doesn't have one and the vrm cooling and such is bad), a cpu cooler (not for overclocking purposes, just for safe measures), and I also live in a smal room with a room temperature below 70 degrees EVERYDAY. So, I think from what I'm adding, will make this mobo NOT overheat, and work fully functional (possibly even overclocking a bit in the future) but not really recommended since my TDP for the cpu is at 125w (same as 8 core series) and they dont recommend oc'ing on this board. Also, will be using this pc for light photoshop work, heavy music (fl studio 11), and some decent/heavy gaming. Im not wanting 4k etc, just games to run 30+fps. I dont really need an ssd either so thats not something I need you too add on. So, basically, just need to know if you think this is a good build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xJYqf7

It seems that you are a enthusiast overclocker. There is no other reason to go AMD FX in a gaming build now a days.

So yes AMD FX series is made for you.

My money would go either Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P or MSI 970 GAMING but still i think you will indeed have a lot of fun overclocking this beast.

Just do yourself a favour and dont go cheap in the PSU, ok? See my first thread about that.

Good luck w/ your chip and go have some fun mate 😀
Corsair CX 500W + AMD FX-6350 + XFX Radeon R9 280 3GB Black Edition = Bad match.

Look for more reliable 550W - 600W PSU for high power parts: XFX, Seasonic, ANTEC, Corsair (TX, HX, Pro), EVGA G2/B2.

It seems that you already bought your cpu subsystem (cpu+mobo) so i will spare you to know my opinion about that 😀

Believe me, the fx 6350 and r9 280 should be fine. I might consider a nvidia card tho..... The mobo , I am adding heatsinks too it, so the mobo should not fry or overheat as many people say. I will also have a fan blowing directly on it. Now the cpu and 970a g43, I'm not too far into that theory yet, so I cant say you're wrong or right, but I can say that the fx 6350 is basically same as fx 8350 for single core performance. Now your'e whole speech about the fx 6350 I can image in is "Wow you could've bought 6300 and just oced yourself and saved you some money!" Umm I got the fx 6350 on SALE with no rebates for $88 NEW + free shipping and handling. You cant beat that. I am using a aftermarket cpu cooler, which his a very good one, for overclocking to maybe 4.1ghz tops. Maybe find me a better combo? Cheap as possible tho. Around the same budget, maybe a tad bit higher (no higher than like $30).

Thanks! I'm really sorry if I sounded rude. I'm honestly not much of an overcloker(or a computer wiz), I just like too if im able too and if its stable. This will be my first GAMING pc build, and my first time overclocking (if needed). Could you maybe find me a psu? I'm not a good person when it comes to psu brands etc. Yeah about the motherboard, its pretty bad haha. But for the tweaks and adjustments I'm making (also air blowing the motherboard in certain spots) it makes it a lot more durable. And i appreciate it you calling it a "beast" all i hear about this thing is how crappy it is. Its a pretty good build for my budget imo.
