the original nature of Sony and Nintendo's deal would have ended up giving Sony a disproportionate degree of power over Nintendo characters and property, which The Big N was obviously not a fan of. This led to Sony being betrayed by Nintendo's subsequent partnership with Phillips for the accursed Phillips CD-i

Imagine if that had taken off... we might've seen a rivalry between a later version of it and XBox, or maybe Apple would've been Sony's main competitor?

Check out DidYouKnowGaming on youtube that has sooo much of this info compiled from translated interviews, to re-compiled news stories, and interviews they've held themselves on the gaming industry. While I don't recall there being a video exactly on this topic of the Nintendo Playstation, they talked about it in either their nintendo video or maybe even the playstation video.
