NO 5.1 on SPDIF Output

Hello!

Did anyone have any issues with a Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional?
I've just bought a brand new one, and I can't make it output 5.1 on SPDIF-OUT for my AV Receiver.....

It's software is all set, in playback devices the spdif-out is set to default and configured.
My OS is Windows 10 64bit, and they released drivers for 10 as well.

It does work, but it's only outputting Stereo sound........... Is there a way to set the spidif device to 5.1 in playback devices? Or somewhere else?
It's freaking software "PRO Studio" doesn't even make a sound when clicking on "test speakers", etc... 🙁

Can anyone help me with this? Is anyone well versed in Creative's issues and stupidity? 🙁(

Actually, I can't get surround sound even on my on-board sound, that has 7.1 and Optical out...

It can't be the AV Receiver. If it was broken, then I shouldn't get any sound at all, right?
Is it Windows 10?? And if it is, is there a fix or a bypass? Or a special modded driver? :|

I disabled the on-board sound from the uefi, as is recommended for stuff like this.

I'm desperate.......... 🙁 (((((((

This is expected. SPDIF can carry one of three audio formats:

2.0 Uncompressed PCM
5.1 Dolby Digital
5.1 DTS

5.1 Uncompressed PCM is too large to be carried by SPDIF.

What you need to do is enable Dolby Digital Live, which will convert any 5.1 audio source into 5.1 Dolby Digital, which your AV Receiver should then be able to decode back into 5.1 Uncompressed PCM. I *think* the Dolby Digital Live option is somewhere in the soundcard software's Cinematic section for your soundcard.

Note you'll still get stereo output if the audio source isn't 5.1.

Only then the damn thing will work 100%.

Which is expected. Movies have a 5.1 Dolby track that can be transferred over SPDIF, games do not.

To enable DDL for the Recon3d:

Cinematic is where you can enable DOLBY DIGITAL LIVE. If you set it to No Encoder, you will pass any AC3 or DTS signal onto your receiver. By enabling Dolby Digital live on your system, it will up mix any stereo audio it generates into 5.1

Thanks, but everything on that software is for the ''speakers'' only. It does not effect ''SPDIF'' in any way.
I played with that thing for 3 days, it's a piece of c**p, at least if you use it with SPDIF out... 🙁

The output labled "SPDIF/Optical" is limited to 2.0 no matter what you do. It's there strictly to support SPDIF passthrough and should be selected ONLY for that purpose.

You should have the output labeled "Speakers" selected, then enable SPDIF output from the soundcards control software.
