No audio output except bluetooth headphones

I am having an audio problem. I get no audio output from the laptop speakers or plugged in earphones. But bluetooth works. I tried updating drivers to no avail and everything else I could think of... which wasn't much. Any thoughts?

If you look in device manager is the audio hardware showing there with no errors? Check default playback devices make sure they are set to the proper device. How did you try updating drivers? If from Windows find new drivers, don't use that, go to the laptop vendor and download the drivers for your model from their support site.

I downloaded the drivers from the manufacturer website. Everything shows as working within device manager. It is also correctly set within playback devices. I brought it to the head IT guy at my company and it stomped him as well.
