I'm stumped. I have WinME and I can only listen to Audio CDs through Windows Media Player. Not through Winamp, not through Earjam, not through what seems like a dozen other applications I downloaded and tried. I see the CD queue up, the application contacts the CDDB and gets the correct CD info, I see the info window showing the time left on the track it's playing but no sound. Any ideas?

What sound card do you have? If It is sound blaster live you have open the speaker program
start --> programs --> creative an there you will see spreaker program

In the program there is adjustments for enableing cd rom, wav, mp3, ect.... that might be your problem.

dude, i had the EXACT same problem you're describing. i followed what jeffg007 said, and it fixed the problem. i'd been living with it for a month or so, because the problem started after i moved around some stuff in my case, and i figured i'd broken a pin or something. but i went to creative diagnostics, and all of a sudden the CD started playing. so i went to the speaker setup and put it to 2 speaker mode (i have 4pt surround), and the cd started playing in microsoft cd player. switched it back to 4 speakers, and now it seems to be working fine...
