A couple days ago i was reinstalling a game on my PC overnight and woke up too look the update barely started it only got about 8GB out of 200 and i seen my computer that is connected to Ethernet had no internet but the wifi is working fine restarted my pc hosted a ttt serer with friends and it all worked well then when i was getting off the computer i had to restart if beacuse it was lagging and when it came back on, no internet and its been like it since i have a online final exam for university in 5 days and its stressing me out my motherboard is a B150 asrock gaming k4 i have cleared cmos, reinstalled drivers, restarted the computer many many times, checked if Ethernet cable or Ethernet works in general, worked fine in a ps4, the internet also does not work in bios. When i reinstalled the driver windows now also thinks that it is not compatible when i am postive i have the right one. https://support.killernetworking.com/download/killer-software-package-windows-10-1803/ as this says compatible with E2400 which is what my motherboard has
I have also tried a full security scan which picked up 1 virus and resetting network in windows 10 which did nothing, sorry if the message is jumbled I'm just adding stuff as I do it
When i go into network status on windows it just shows a dotted line. I am also unable to turn on network discovery, when i check it and save changes it instantly goes back to off.

If your internet works normally, then it's something with windows. If it doesn't work normally, then it could be your nic, your ethernet cable, or something else on your network.
another interesting side note that I just found, my computer cannot find any sound devices and my headset makes no sound, windows troubleshoot does nothing.

Hmmm...could be something more. Try the linux boot first and see what it does. Let me know and we'll go from there. :)
So just ran it and Ethernet works fine with linux i also fixed the image issue, and i have audio after the restart, windows also says i now have the correct drivers. Still no available networks though. Discovery number 732, somehow chrome has a connection despite my pc saying its not connected to anything

Something is definitely screwy with the windows drivers. What have you changed/installed lately?
OK so i think i just fixed it i went into my services on windows and almost everything was disabled, when through and enabled almost everything and stuff just started to come back piece by piece and it now has internet, i think a virus just killed all my windows services or something but thank you so much because going on linux to see that windows was the problem helped me so much
