[SOLVED] no BIOS update for this motherboard?

Hello guys,

I cant find any BIOS update for this platform "GA-M68MT-S2 (rev. 1.3) " and im afraid the new DDR3 ram ive ordered wont work without it.

Revision 3.1 has one or two BIOS updates but not the 1.3. Its this ok? Or they are not being shown? I mean, its strange it hasnt have any....

Yeah, seems GA hasn't provided updates. Most likely won't matter though. Compatibility for any DDR3 ram within spec shouldn't be an issue. If you bought 4GB module(s) of 1333 or 1600 at 1.35 or 1.5v, you should be good.

Is the new ram to replace or add to your existing ram? If it's the latter did you check your current ram specs first?

i will be replacing an old 1x4GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHZ 1.5v

with 2x4gb Kingston DDR3 1600MHZ 1.5v

In the past i had to do some bios flashing to get those DDR3 sticks to work on old platforms.

new ram worked like a charm with no issues and just by plug n play
