SORRY EVERYONE, I WAS OBVIOUSLY THINKING OF A DIFFERENT GAME MAKER!

Not surprised. WoW brings so much money, and I bet postponing D3 has more to do with how we'd pay for it rather it being ready/not ready.

Next MMO in 2011-2012, faster than I thought. I hope it won't be D3...

Diablo 3 is a joker and Blizzard knows it. It will come out just when WoW sells less. And even that isn't assured if Blizzard decides to try a WoW2 to stimulate again the sales... :-(

blizzard makes good games but, they take too long, they have way too much money to not get this game out next year period.

before wow when they were a small company i sympathized with them because i know how hard it can be worrying about money in the video game buisiness, now i just resent the company for its lack of drive and lethargy, and complete inability to follow a schedual. does anyone actually show up regularly and on time for work at blizzard or are they too rich now?

the unfortunate thing in my eyes is that by the time they get around to releasing this game it will already look dated. . . . .

It's the same after warcraft 2. How long did that take? 10 years? Then startcraft, 10 years too? It's not surprising, just hate they started the hype engine and now push it back and back further.

But what did I expect from Blizzard. I've lost faith in Blizzard a while ago and I see other companies bring just as good quality games, but release them fast enough to warrant my money more than Blizzard does.

At some point, you'd want to release the game before it's old and no one wants it anymore.

"StarCraft II and the upgraded Battle.net"
I would not be surprised if Blizzard pulls the same stunt as Activision did with no LAN dedicated server support for Startcraft 2.
I will not be buying it until I can get all three parts in one box. Sorry Blizzard I don't like to buy a game in instalments.

Oh well. Blizzard once was one of my favorite publishers to buy games from but now they just have fallen off the radar. Havent put out a single f'ing game in over 5 years and still nothing concrete (in terms of release date). Only thing weve definitely heard from them is WOW releases and nerfing(removing features) Starcraft II. Oh well there will be other games to play.

Goodbye Blizzard you cash whores. Even if you put out a quality game it means little if it takes 5 -10 years to do it. Your either to focused on your cash cow or have really bad management that cant staff, schedule, and develop a product in a timely manner.

[citation][nom]elbert[/nom]Diablo what is this? Just kidding but by that time will diablo have any brand name recognition left? Not one teenager from where I work knows diablo as a game.[/citation]
That's exactly what I was thinking. By the time it is released, the younger gamers will stay away because Diablo will be a game that all the old fogeys play because they're the only ones that remember it.

Wow, I can't (actually I can) believe it. My cousin WAS right. Last 4th of July he said most likely 2011. Now, a fine question to Blizzard. Why...Why would you announce a game...when you know for a fact it's not going to even be on the shelf within a year, give or take 6 months? I wished I never even knew this game was being developed at this point. They should have let people known around July 2010. Would have been much more intelligent.

This is a total duke nukem forever show. The developers want it to be so perfect they can never achieve it. By the time they do game standards of changed then they will have to redo again.

True, the current models tend to have a bulky blocky look to them already. I don't care what people say, it does look like they used the WoW color palette in this game as well. Also the 'havoc' physics engine is a little over the edge. Take a look at the dead zombies 'sliding' down the hill during the 20 minute game play video after they come out of the dungeon. Looks stupid, but, I'll have to get it either way, can't pass up any Diablo gameplay.

[citation][nom]sickofthem09[/nom]WHO GIVES A DAM!!!Stop supporting actiblizzard, stop buying their online only crap, stop thinking about it, stop pirating it, stop talking about it with others, just forget them and their so called games forever. Let them dry up and die or stoop down to making stupid kiddie console games just to stay alive. NONE of their "products" are worth waiting for if they are going to be online only, can't play a lan game, can host your own server etc... probably can't mod anything either. Don't even play the old starcraft game, screw them! Am I being blunt? oh yes lol obviously but so are they. Greed is already killing our economy and country, if we support these greedy companies further, their greed will ruin the pc game market too.[/citation]

Greed is killing us , and I agree with you... but...but... I LOVE Diablo , I've played it since day one (I was very little) and read the books. I want it for the story.

Ah ha ha ha ha! More vaporware from Bliztivision! I bet the news next year will be "Oh noes, Starcraft 2 won't be out till 2011!"

Let's face it: until WoW stops being the cash cow that it is, they have *no* impetus to work on anything else. And if by chance they *do* get a working version, the typical gamer's hardware will have changed so much that they will have to go back to the drawing board.

[citation][nom]FlayerSlayer[/nom]I can't say I'm surprised. StarCraft came out in 1998 and the first THIRD of StarCraft 2 won't be out until 2010, with the rest coming years later. What hope did Diablo 3 have?EVERYTHING Blizzard touches takes years longer than you'd think. But it's all quality stuff in the end.[/citation]

When was the last time Blizzard made a quality product?
Starcraft I
Diablo II
I will cut them some slack on Warcraft since it is a well created clone of Warhammer.

That is pretty much it. That was their pinnacle of quality.

WoW is atrocious, don't say that 11 million people can't be wrong, because the sad fact is they are. WoW does not have a good PvP system, Mythic did it right. Three 24 player Tier 4 warbands facing off against three more warband in open fields and keeps. That was just awesome. WoTLK had nothing to compare to it. (No I am not a WAR player anymore) PvE content was repetitive and let's face it boring, EQ I and II had better content, to be honest I first started playing MMOs with Meridian95, then went to UO, and then EQ. It has all been done before...WoW has not had an original thought EVER. Even the Warcraft IP is heavily taken from Warhammer. Graphically it is a joke. I had WoTLK running on a Dell Latitude D620's intel chipset, particle effects, shadows and all. Dungeons and Dragons Online, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Aion, Everquest II, EVE Online, I could go on and on with MMOs that have better graphics. WoW was mediocre, and Blizzard made a fortune from it.

I miss when games were made for real gamers, not the general public. I love Starcraft and the Diablo line. I am afraid they are going to dumb it down for casual players, leaving us with another MW2. MW2 was incredibly short...under 6 hours, didn't offer a whole lot of challenges, and didn't offer a graphical improvement over its predecessor.

Oh well, millions of casual gamers will get catered to while the hardcore gamers slowly die off. I imagine the hardcore gamers last gasping breath will be followed by the sound of millions of twelve year old voices shouting NOOB all at once. 🙁
