No display need advice

I have recently switched cards on my gaming rig from 780 to a 290x and it worked great for a day or two, but now when I boot it shows the windows splash screen on the monitor but when it switches to where you would type a pw the monitors turn off... So i tried to boot in safe mode and all is well Im assuming that rules out the new hardware but not too sure and my question is what is my next step also the rest of my build is an 8320 16gigs of ram xfx1050 psu crosshair v formula z...

check that your graphics card is not loose or has not moved from its place. If that doesn't work connect your monitor cables to the graphics card.

the cables are connected and i get a good signal when in safe mode so i think ive ruled out that much and also i have reconnected and reseated the card i think its somthing to do with drivers but im not sure also im running windows 7 if that helps anyone

try switching back to 780 and get the latest amd drivers i have seen many people in these issues So completely uninstall the Amd driver and then get the new driver from the Amd website but remeber to completely uninstall the old driver first and then get new driver and then switch back r9 290

there is nothing to worry the old Amd drivers just mess the new one so thats why it is recommended to completely install the old drivers first
