Hello,

Today I assembled a new PC with my dad for him.
Everything seemed to work fine except one thing, that the screen stays black after a reboot.
When I start the computer normally with the power button the display works fine.

Here are the specs:
Intel i7 3770k
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
Gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD (Ghz edition, factory OC at 1100Mhz)
Intel SSD 520 120GB
RECOM 600W PSU
Corsair vengeance 1600Mhz 2x 4GB

When the PC needs to reboot after software installation I need to turn off the PC with the on/off button as soon it restarts, so it turns off straight away. Then turn it on again so that the display works.
If I don't do this and just let the PC restart on itself then the display will stay black.

Anyone know any solution? All the hardware I listed is brandnew. I just installed Windows 7 and everything seems to work ok except for this issue.

Thanks for any help.

instal the newest mb bios to fix any bios glitches. the issue is that in the bios you have both onboard ipgpu on and a gpu. and in the bios the ipgpu is set as the first video device. (primany video). set the gpu as the first video device and see if the error stops. if not turn off onboard video.) also make sure you did not install the mvp software that bonds the ipgpu and gpu together.

yes flashing the bios to the newest rev. also if you have both video chipsets on make sure the intel control panel is installed and the gpu is the first video device.

I'm not at my dad right now so will do it tomorrow. But I remember checking in the UEFI BIOS and I didn't see any GPU settings, under which subject is it under?

I turned the internal graphics off and turned init display on PEG. But it's always back on automatic when I enter the BIOS next time.

Anyway, the screen doesn't turn black anymore after a reset or a restart of the PC, I think it was because I installed AMD drivers or BIOS drivers etc.
It only goes black now after I save and exit the bios. Or when I make changed to raid utility.

So I'm not sure how to fix this.

In the UEFI Gigabyte BIOS it "Init display first" setting always goes back to "AUTO" after I set it to "PEG" for some reason.

But for the rest the PC works fine, good performance in games etc.
