Bought a new xfx gtr rx 580 8gb. No display after install. The card has power all led lights are on and fans are running. Replaced an old xfx radeon ghd 6870, which still works like new. The motherboard is an msi p67a-g43. It has 8gb of ddr3 ram 1333mhz and an i5 2500k. The board does not have it's own onboard graphics card. I updated all the amd drivers. Still no display. The computer boots up fine and the graphics card is getting power and "sounds" good. Anyone have same problem?

To rule out the obvious - the power connectors for the GPU are plugged in to the PSU?

With the new GPU installed, you can reset the CMOS (pull the battery on the motherboard for 30 seconds and replace) after you install the GPU and before you turn it on. Sometimes the mobo doesn't like hardware changes unless the CMOS is reset.

Next thought, if possible, is to try the GPU in another computer to be absolutely sure you didn't get a dud.

Last thought, maybe the PSU isn't up to the job.

Returned the gtr rx 580 for new one. Still have the same problem. Have not tried a new psu yet. Thinking about trying that next. What would a safe one to get on a budget?
