I got an rx 580 for my computer because my old graphics card burnt out. I installed the new graphics card but am not getting anything more than a black screen. The fans on the card are spinning and I just installed a 600w power supply to power it. The integrated graphics work fine as long as the gpu isnt being powered. I have tried starting in safe mode with the graphics card installed but still got nothing. I dont have the option to change display settings in bios. It is not showing up in device manager but I cant have the gpu powered or the integrated graphics dont work. I used the amd driver cleaner to remove old drivers. Could this be a problem with the motherboard? I am looking at updating bios but have two different update options and dont want to brick my computer trying to get a graphics card working. I also am going to try booting bios in legacy mode if I can do that without updating bios but it doesnt look likely.

specs
-i7 3770 3.4 ghz
-rx 580 8gb
-600w 80 + power supply
-8gb ddr3 ram
motherboard has code
-ipisb-vr rev 1.01 and is acer

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Similar issue here, with any card I try, hope someone have some answers for you bud (us). Best of luck!

Yes you should try a BIOS update. You said system is an Acer, it may just work with the newer video card due to being an OEM motherboard. In general OEM systems have worse support for add-on video cards than normal enthusiast motherboards.
I tried a bios update and got nothing, also still cant launch with safe boot off or switch bios over to legacy mode. Motherboard is an acer but the computer is a gateway. Its looking like I need a new motherboard that supports a gen 3 intel processor as well as modern graphics cards.
