The only option i have to dormat ANY drive or USB is exfat. Nothing else is in dropdown. CMD line "format E: /fs:NTFS" does mot work either.

Get strange return:

C:\Windows\system32>format E: /FS:NTFS
E:E:
FAT32NTFSNTFSNTFS
C:\Windows\system32>

I have not got this problem on any other of the computers, and have never seen it on this one before. Even in disk management it only shows exfat as option.

Ok, I see you're not looking for a workaround. Is there other things not working on that computer?

Are there other issues specific for usb handling ?

Before this happens, can you remember if something is changed, like:
  • Installed software or drivers, or windows upgrades ?
  • Any change in hardware configuration.

Also, this should be easy to google for, have a look at two links I found by simple searching:

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and Windows OS information.

In the "Type here to search box" enter "Create and format hard disk partitions".

Capture and post the resulting "Disk Management" window using imgur (www.imgur.com). Be sure to expand the window so all is shown.

[Moderator note: moving post from Windows 10 to Storage.]

Its not just this flash drive - its any drive of any kind. The only option my computer is giving is exfat, even for hard drives. I have never come across this before. None of my other 9 computers are doing this. This is my main operation computer and I DO NOT want to reformat or reinstall windows, way too many programs to deal with.

Also - made a new profile, in case the profile was corrupt, but the new empty profile does the same thing.

Where did I ask you to that?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_CD
Have a look at the Uses section.
I could not see how booting to a live cd or ubuntu, or alt start up would solve win10 not showing any other format options than exfat. I need a fix to make the function as normal. To format a drive, I can just use my other computer, I need this one to get corrected. I am asking how to fix the malfuction.

To apply a solution, you first have to identify the problem.

Booting from some other media may help in that quest.
