Hello,
I have a specific problem that cannot be answered wby using FAQs. I use
the http.support.benq.com website, fill out a form and I get a letter
directing me to the same site! I have the 866 number but I know what
I'll be facing because on my other Benq I was given an incorrect
firmware number. Lucky that I caught it before flashing the drive.

I'm hoping to find someone here to help me:

I bought a BenQ DW 1620 PRO, and I searched for the latest FirmWware
for that model. I somehow selected G7M9. Can't remember why or how.
When it came to download the FirmWare, I got an error emssage that read
to the effect...the firmware you are about to flash is OLDER than the
one in your unit. FLASH or EXIT. I clicked FLASH by mistake!!

So the firmware I use now is 2x16x and 4x/16x instead of 4x/16x and 4x
16x. Fine! It runs but with a few little message that don't seem to
bother the viewing, but it WILL NOT BURN a DVD.

What I would like is the number of the firmware that follows the G7M9,
or any one after that number for my unit I tried two of the latest
numbers and a message said that the firmware was NOT for my unit.

Doorstop? Boat Anchor? Garbage can? What's my next move.

ThanX! Mike

Sorry, wrong post "> BTW, the firmware you preiouslly installed is for DVD
rom only, not for DVD
> R/W drive." , I meant was that the firmware G7M9 should be B7M9?
