Not enough information: need operating system and service pack level,
type of internet connection, ISP name.

Are you still having problems empleh?
We're game players with ntl on 600k connection with no problems.
Check with ntl that there's no limits imposed with your lower level of
service.
Are you running with zone alarm or windows firewall software running? Try
disabling them for a few minutes while you test if this is the problem (can
be risky if you've not performed full critical updates on Windows)
If you're running a hardware router/firewall between pc and cable modem make
sure it's letting traffic through.
