So yesterday after a reboot I just lost internet connection in windows. Thought this was a problem with my network but it was fine on my phone.
Booted up in linux and things were working fine.

So I reinstalled the network driver but it didn't help.
Surprisingly I could still connect to my ftp server on my phone so that meant that it's connecting to the network ( as in the internal network) but not to internet?

Right now I'm running an https proxy server on my phone and connecting to it which also is working fine.
Anyone know what's wrong here?

I wasn't sure wether to ask this in the windows forum or here, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place.

Make and model router?

The router's logs (if available and enabled) may provide some clue as to what is or is not happening.

Who has full admin rights to the router? You will need help from that person.
Look in Reliability History and Event Viewer for any network related error codes, warnings, or informational events.

Try running "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Run the built-in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Run "sfc /scannow" and "dism"

If no success, then run "ipconfig /all" via the Command Prompt and post the results.

So this just started happening again.
Ran the troubleshooter, and it said the DNS server wasn't responding. I tried setting it to use Google's and Cloudflare's DNS, but it's the same.

But whenever I connect a VPN it works properly so this might actually be a DNS issue.

The router is in my mine.
It is either just my crappy router or my ISP. I got it bundled with my internet subscription. I don't think it has a way for collecting logs. It's working fine now.
