[SOLVED] No lights no sounds on startup - PSU is OK

Hi,

After electricity outage the PC is completely dead. Switching the PC results in no sounds and no lights. I checked the PSU with voltmeter using paperclip method and it fine. I also connected another PSU to my computer, but the result was the same as with the first one. I disconnected all the hard disks. The PC is old, but till outrage it worked fine. I have the Gigabit motherboard. What else can I do? Is it the motherboard problem which is likely not repairable .

Could be that the electricity outage gave a sudden shock to the computer. Very unlikely though. A part that may have been cheaply made or bought could have been fried.

And if it is the motherboard i would try another one as it could be that as the pc should post with the power supply and motherboard but as you said that the power supply did have current it is most likely the mobo.

Your answer to that is a simple lookup. There are 4 of them on ebay from 85$ (with shipping, comes with i3, and an odd cpu cooler) to a 140$. (free shipping) here
