So I've been playing no man's sky and I have HWMonitor on a second monitor. When the game loads in my 4790k will hit 69-71c for a second than return to normal temperatures (50-61c). So, the game doesn't hang on these high temperatures, just bumps them for a moment when a new planet is loading in. Most games run at my usual operating temps, not these high peaks.

Do you guys think this is an optimization issue? Will Hello Games be able to fix something like this, or will the CPU just be subject to this degree of variance? It bothered me at first, but I don't think I need to be worried about my hardware, or should I?

Also, the 4790k is being cooled by a CM Hyper Evo.

Yo I have a i7 4790K and I played the game on release. The game was horribly broken with stutter, frame drop and shocking GPU usage of 80% (Witcher 3 on high with my GTX 970 uses 70-80%).

This game is hardly demanding in the display department but it may be that the game is forcing all this creation of the world on the CPU and GPU.

I refunded the rubbish game, not worth £39.99.

I didn't experience the performance issues, stable 110-150 fps on a 1070, but man the resource grind is kind of awful. I can only play for short periods while listening to a podcast.
