[SOLVED] No monitor output with new CPU

I recently bought an i7 9700K. I upgraded from an i5.

When I plugged in the monitor, nothing happens. I just got the "no signal" text. I have tried resetting CMOS with a jumper, taking out the RAM sticks and plugging in my monitor to the motherboard with VGA, but nothing works.

My specs:
Motherboard: msi z370 apro
CPU: i7 9700k, i5 8600k before
GPU: 2070s
RAM: 36GB

My PC starts every time, but I can't get a video output.

Does someone have any ideas what to do?

Did you update bios first?

Z390 was released for 9th gen, and bios updates for 370 followed. A blank screen does seem like this step hasn't been undertaken.

The 9700K takes a newer BIOS than at least some i5s. Did you make sure it has the proper BIOS?

I did not update the bios before, I can try that!

Yes do. All will be ok once done.

BIOS version 7B48v29 minimum is required for your CPU to work on that board. Update to the latest version anyway.

UPDATE: updating the bios fixed the problem. Thanks to everyone who answered my question!
