Hello, I've been having problems with my new PC connecting to my wireless network. It's mostly a adapter problem. I have tried at least 3 different brands of network adapters and they each had problems staying connected to my wireless network. The first one I brought would stay connected to my network for a few days before losing performance and then eventually disconnecting from my network. When that would happen I wasn't able to reconnect from Windows 8. If I restarted started the computer it would still not reconnect. The only way I would be able to get get it to reconnect was if I pulled the adapter out of the USB slot and plug it back in. At that point the name of my network would reappear with Windows 8 and I would be able to reconnect again. That would happen every few days, and it got really aggravating so I brought a new adapter from a different brand. That second adapter wouldn't even show the networks after installing it. So I returned it and brought a new one from another brand that I had not yet tried. The new one works, but only stays connected for a few hours.
When I first had problems with the first adapter staying connected I took the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Called my wireless service provider. They said that the signal is fine after rebooting it, from what they could tell on their end. My other desktops and mobile devices work just fine on my network.
2. I downloaded all Windows 8 updates.
3. I downloaded all the latest drivers for my motherboard, and each of the USB adapters when I tried them.
Does anyone know what the problem could be here? I'm having this problem with Windows 8. My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3.
