Discussion No Onboard audio

Onboard audio is not working on my system

problem: Headphone/ speaker detected in realtek control panel but no sound ( even when testing it in playback devices)

what i tried:
reinstalling drivers
reinstalling windows
flashing previous bios
using different speaker / headphone
rebuilt the whole system


ps sound is coming fine from hdmi/dp audio from monitor

mmb : MSI X570 Gaming Plus
cpu: Ryzen 3700x
bios: a40

Just to be clear, you're currently on BIOS version 7C37vA4? If so, which version of Windows 10 are you currently on? Recreate your installer using Windows Media Creation Tools and install all your drivers manually, after downloading the drivers from MSI's support site.

i installed latest windows from media creation tool and also a version of windows from 2018 from an older iso that worked before and also this one Win10_1903_V1_English_x64

Maybe check what your default audio device is. Could be HDMI from your GPU.
