Hello,

I'm looking to change my PC case, to fit my new Graphics card, but PcPartPicker says that "Case has front panel USB 3.0 ports, but the Motherboard does not have onboard USB 3.0 headers."

Does this mean that i can't use USB 3.0 or that i can't use front USB ports at all?

Thanks. :)

Solution
You won't be able to use the front headers at all. Not unless it has 2.0 and 3.0. In that case the 3.0 wouldn't work, but the 2.0 would still come with a viable connector.

Are you re-using the motherboard in your signature in a new case? From what I can see, that motherboard does have USB 3.0 on the rear IO but not an internal USB 3.0 header.

You would be able to use USB 3.0 from the rear IO but the USB 3.0 front panel connectors won't be able to be connected, though you'd probably be able to get a cable to connect the rear USB 3.0 to the USB 3.0 header so that you could use USB 3.0 from the front panel.

I've been trying to find one for ages but I can't find any, there must be one out there somewhere lol. You'd need a female USB 3.0 motherboard connector to 2 x female USB 3.0.
