I have a Samsung series 9 laptop with 4GB RAM soldered onto motherboard, no extra RAM slots. I am thinking about using USB 3.0 flash drive and use it as extra RAM. But a lot of reviews says it will not last since it has limited read/write cycles. Also I am on windows 8 with that laptop, not sure I can expand RAM in such method. Can anyone kindly suggest options?

Sounds like you are in an unfortunate situation. You can look to see if you can increase the page file. (the amount the HDD is using as ram) There is multiple online tutorials for this as for using a flash drive and ready boost it may not help.
RAM is expensive for a reason, that is because it has extremely fast read/ writes speeds :

However, USBs have much lower read/write speeds :

Even if, somehow you managed to use the flash drive as RAM (readyboost does not actually increase RAM size), it would be too slow to be useful, and would wear down the USB pretty quickly. Bear in mind that not even SSDs comes close to RAM speeds so its just not possible 🙁

Well I wouldnt say that. The Hp elitebook folio that I have has two Ram slots, plus an msata slot and an extra pcie slot, for some reason. And its an ultrabook!! :)
