I have a problem with my monitor, hoping someone can help. I always used to plug my laptop into it via HDMI to do work, but now it’s not working. The monitor recognises that it’s plugged in as it wakes up from standby, but it says no signal and goes back to sleep.

pressing detect in my display settings does nothing, I’ve restarted, replugged cables and reinstalled drivers. The monitor and cable work fine when plugged into my PS4 but my laptop just cannot recognise it.

Anyone have any ideas for a fix?

Monitor: AOC E2470SWH
Laptop: acer spin 5

Make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your laptop. Following that, make sure your OS is on the latest version, assuming you're on Windows 10. If so, then we're on version 20H2 for Windows 10. You will need to download the latest drivers for your laptop's GPU either from AMD, Nvidia or Intel, depending on what GPU you have on your laptop(the Spin 5 is a series in a portfolio for Acer, it doesn't state the specs you have in your laptop).

Once armed with the drivers, use DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers and then install your drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
