Question No signal When trying to boot windows 10

My pc currently has windows 7 on it, but I am trying to download windows 10 on it. When i load the windows 10 boot media it shows the windows 10 logo then goes to no signal. And if i try to update to windows 10 through windows 7 it fails and i get an error.
0xC1900101 - 0x2000C
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during APPLY_IMAGE operation

I also have tried using a different hard drive. If anyone could help that would be great.

The issue lies the upgrade process with some motherboards and Windows 10. One possible fix is to make sure there are no devices (eg USBs) connected to your PC when trying an upgrade. Otherwise you will likely have to do a clean install to upgrade.

Isn’t using the installation media on a usb stick doing a clean install?

Not if you chose to upgrade rather than a custom install. A clean install deletes all your personal files and installed programs.

So yes the issue im getting is with a clean install i think.

So you have downloaded the Micorsoft Media Creation tool and you have used it to create a USB installer (you are not choosing to upgrade).. The when you boot the USB installer, you choose a custom install.

The problem is when i boot the usb installer, i see the windows 10 logo then a loading spiral underneath for a few seconds. But after that i just get no signal.
