No sound on new Asus 516 laptop

I have an Asus A516 Never had a laptop before. I have a sound problem. If I plug PC speakers in everything is fine. I can play MP3 files and watch you tube videos. If I unplug the PC speakers nothing comes out of the laptop internal speakers.



There is a Realtek console app that tests the sound system which works. Is there some setting that I have missed.

Look for "sound" there.

open "sound".

Look at "playback" tab.

What choices do you see?

I have LG full HD, Speakers (Realtek) and Headphones (Realtek) .
It was set to Headphones even though there is no headphone socket only Aux speaker.

Problem. If I set it to Speakers it comes out of the internal speakers. If I set it to headphones it comes out of the AUX output. Surly the act of plugging in a speaker should switch between them as most audio hardware. This means I have to continually go to control panel to change it back and forth.
