Before anyone asks, ive searched and i know ive fixed this before awhile ago but not without help, and i can't find that post if it was even on this forum, the issue came back after taking apart my PC to clean it, oddly enough, taking things apart fixed some issue lol(did you try unplugging it and plugging it back it).

The issue i am having is that my sound seems to be muted for the first few seconds when sound is to be happening, its not delayed sound as each sound is on time, there just is no sound for the first few seconds, then it kicks in and everything is fine until there is no sound for a few seconds then it is muted again for the first few seconds, basically i start a video and there is no sound for 3 seconds then it kicks in, but when nothing is making a sound, it goes back to muting its self again, i keep having to start videos from the start after the sound kicks in to hear everything and i miss skype messages because it is just one sound then nothing else, i can hear other sounds when there is something making constant sound, but when there is no sound for a few seconds then it mutes again, i remember getting this fixed before so i know there is a fix, but i don't remember how.

Try updating the audio driver.

"Where do I get the driver from?" I hear you ask. Well I could have answered that more easily if you'd posted system details, but follow this general rule of thumb:

a) If it's a pre-built PC or laptop, get driver from that manufacturer's website.

b) If it's a home-built/custom-built PC, get driver from the motherboard maker's website.

c) If it's a PCI sound card, get driver from that card maker's website.

I have this same issue on integrated graphics through hdmi. Did you find a solution? I remember a while ago i had this little program that would send a constant signal of audio but not that ya could hear it, so the device wouldnt go go sleep or mute, cant find it anymore though, its dam annoying when everytimd you start a video or song ya miss 2 seconds of audio from start
