[SOLVED] No sound through DisplayPort

Hello.

I have recently completed a clean install of Windows. I have a monitor with speakers (ASUS VG27AQ) and since doing a clean install, sound does not work via DisplayPort, but does work via HDMI.

I have done a lot of the normal checks like sound level, setting the device as default, uninstalling and re-installing sound drivers etc. with no luck.

Any help appreciated!

SYSTEM SPECS:
MBO - GIGABYTE GA-AB350M-HD3
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU - Radeon RX 580
OS - BUILD: 19042.985 - WINDOWS 10 PRO; ALL DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE.

Thanks @Saga Lout - I've installed those drivers but that didn't solve it unfortunately. Any other tips you have would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue with an RX 580 and hdmi. I had to install an older driver to get the card to output audio.

And the monitor did work with DP before - correct?

Are you able to try another known working DP cable?

And just to make sure, you restarted the computer after you installed the driver that @Saga Lout suggested, yes?

Correct. The sound still works through HDMI. And the DisplayPort cable works perfectly fine for video, just no audio.

You can easily google for additional information. Just include applicable hardware make/model information in your search criteria.

Hopefully all that is needed is to identify the applicable connections and configurations.

Solved it! Turns out I just needed to fully kill the power and unplug. Then powered back up and it worked haha!

Thank you, this is totally work, I also have a problem related to this, the cause is force shutdown, after I unplugged all power cables, it finally worked
