I finished this build, installed Mavericks, booted up to OSX, and opened Multibeast. I then stepped away for about 10 minutes to look up which settings I should use in Multibeast. When I came back, screen was off. I initially thought it had just went into sleep mode, but I now can't get it to do anything, even after multiple restarts with the power button. I tried different cables and different displays with no luck. The LEDs and the CPU fan are all coming on, but no video out. I don't even get the splash screen anymore. I can normally troubleshoot from within an OS, but I have no idea what to do when I can't even get anything to come up on the screen. Please help! Anything would be appreciated!

(I've tried asking for help on a couple different places on TonyMac but haven't gotten a reply; I thought it might be a hardware issue though?)

can you try another display like a TV or another monitor. If you have a mechanical hard drive (not an SSD), can you hear the read/write heads spin up and operate during boot? If this is the case, then its definitely monitor, GPU or video cable.

I didn't end up buying a dedicated graphics card, so I'm just using the on-board, and I've tried two different monitors and all the display ports I have. The problem is, I can't even get any sort of pre-boot screen including the BIOs.

Yes, I've tried another display, another cable, and all the display ports I have. I can also hear the mechanical drive making noise. I'm just using the on-board graphics. Do you, then, think it's the GPU and that the motherboard will have to be replaced?

OK. Cleared CMOS, and I'm back to the BIOS screen! I know the settings are very particular for Hackintosh builds. Any suggestions on how to proceed further?

Thanks so much for your help. I had never had to clear the CMOS before. Crucial info to have. My wife is a happy camper now that she has a working build.
