Hi

This is my first real time opening up a computer so excuse any ignorance.

I just bought a new PSU (XFX 550W) and graphics card (GTX 660) for my HP Pavilion p7-1449

After installing both I didn't get any video output, as in my monitor had the orange light on is if it was on standby. However I could hear the tower still making noise normally as if it was on. So I took the graphics card out everything seems to work fine with it running on the integrated graphics.

WIth the graphics card inside everything seems to be running fine (fans are running, green light on the graphics card is on) and the graphics card appeared to be securely in place.

I've already googled this a whole bunch and already tried
- uninstalling the old AMD integrated graphics drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller
- going into BIOS and disabling secure boot and enabling legacy boot

So is there anything wrong with my setup? Anything else I can try?

Solution
I was just about to suggest using the display driver uninstaller until I saw you'd already tried it, if you followed all of those steps properly it should have resolved the issue if it was driver related :/ so after you press 'remove all drivers and shut down for new card install' and then put the new card in, you still see absolutely nothing on screen? I'm not too sure what else can be done, perhaps there is a problem with the card itself or someone else knows what might be up. What are you using to connect the GPU to your monitor?

LOL
Just noticed noticed the VGA adapter when u mentioned that last sentence.
Working fine now. Well like I said it was my first time so excuse the ignorance.

I do have a minor issue now however and thats I just noticed that NCIX gave me this instead of this

As far as I can tell they are the same except the image on the side. Should I care?

Hahaha, well i'm glad what I said caused you to figure it out 😛
And that's really weird man, maybe have a look at reviews, as long as it's the right wattage and is known to be a good psu and you are happy with it, it shouldn't matter, although if it bothers you that much I'm sure if you contacted them and told them they sent you the wrong one and proved it they would fix it up for you.
Good luck with everything :)
