Hey guys, so i got a bit of an issue.

Recently got a RX580 for a bargain to replace my trusty old GTX 970, needed a bit more vram and such and such. Anyways my problem is that i got no video output at all on first install, i tried taking it out and putting it in again, such and such. Anyways i remembered that i have an iGPU so i plugged into that, went into the uefi settings and tinkered a bit, eventually enabling csm and well.. that fixed it. But i'd like to disable csm to shave a few seconds of boot time, so i wonder if theres a trick to this? I tried updating the bios but the flasher complained about a mismatch in the SUBSYSTEM ID, and i don't wanna brick my card by force flashing so I thought I'd give a go at asking you guys, thanks!

(I am sure it is the graphics card, something about its handling of UEFI, since the GTX 970 worked perfectly)

Specs :
ASUS RX 580 8GB Dual OC
Lenovo ERAZER X310 Desktop (OEM motherboard)
16gb DDR3
Intel i5-4460

Speaking as an owner of an RX480, Polaris GPUs absolutely do support UEFI and do not need CSM to function.

...unless they have been modified in some way. Is there a custom BIOS on the card? Was it used by a cryptominer?

If that is the case, you will have to track down the correct BIOS and flash it accordingly.
