noisey drive tray

just bought a lite-on 52x24x52 from NewEgg , the drive tray is real noisey ( like the gears are not aligned), I have a lite-on 16x DVd and its fairly quiet opening and closing , is this just because its an inexpensive drive or is it RMA time ??

I've got those two exact drives as you and and I think I have the exact same problem. It sounds like something is ripping apart from the inside, it almost made me jump out of my seat because that sucker was loud. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong also so if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. BTW, what's newegg's rma policy for oem products?

Hopefully there's a simple solution though.

I RMA'ed the drive , recieved a new one , its quiet !!

Although most people here recommend LiteOn burners and DVD drives, there're certainly some other people who have bad experience with their LiteOn drives. Perhaps Liteon should pay more attention to users' complaints and improve the QC of its products.
