none of these replies work,, I do not have a floppy drive in this computer .. it is deleted from the boot sequence

When I boot up I always get the message floppy disk seek failure. I do not have a
floppy drive in this computer. I have removed it from the boot sequence and saved
the changes. I am still getting the same message. My hard drive is the first in the
sequence.

Did you also configure the drives page of the BIOS to tell the system that there is no floppy drive. Just removing it from the boot order doesn't do it, the BIOS will still try to access the drive during POST.
