Hi all! Brand new to the building world. I bought a h8-1213c a while back, and then got interested in upgrading. The only change so far is that I upgraded the GPU to a gtx 750ti.

My long term goal is to be ready for VR by ~2018, so right now I'm planning ahead and waiting till the necessary components are cheaper. I think my CPU (i7-3770) is probably sufficient and know that I'll need a better GPU, but I'm still a little clueless on things like if I'll need a new motherboard to get the most out of a newer GPU, if I need more/better RAM, etc. What's the path I take to get ready as efficiently as I can?

2018 is such a long way away in computer terms that trying to spec out anything is somewhat pointless. Trying to slowly upgrade towards it is just a bad idea. Better to save your money and buy a new system when the date gets closer.

Here is a link to the oculus rift requirements.
