Hi, I've been given a G-Drive portable USB 3.0 hard drive and my computer which is running windows xp is recognising additional hardware but not allowing me to see any of the files. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If Windows is acknowledging that the drive is plugged in but no sign of it in My Computer, it may just need a drive letter assigning to it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844

Hi Phillip, thank you for your response. I have followed instructions from the link all the way to the panel that gives the option of changing drive letter. However the option to change the drive letter is written in light grey so does nothing when I click on it. The drive is claerly known by the computer as it say it is healthy. I'm running XP Professional services pack three and the drive im trying to access is 1tb if that is any help. Thanks again Simon
