[SOLVED] Not showing 120hz in nvidia control panel

my 120hz asus vg278 monitor is not displayed by name in nvidia control panel and not a option to do 120hz
ive bought a new cable from dvi to DP but that didnt work
i only have hmdi and dvi in my minitor
and hdmi 2.0 seems not to work aswell

i have created a custom resolution with 120hz but that screws up the colours and makes the screen not hd anymore

my specs are
gpu= rtx 2060 super
cpu= ryzen 5 3800x
16 gb ram

Which model exactly? There are several that begin with "VG278" and are not alike at all.
