I wanted to pass this on.
Last month when I put a U1 copper heatsink on my BBA 9800 Pro, I was expecting to spend a lot of time removing the stock goo off of my GPU. The yellow goo that I found on my 9500np was very difficult to get off. And more than a year later, because I was stupid, I scratched the GPU on a 9700 Pro getting the yellow goo off--it was some nasty, sticky stuff. But to my surprise, the white compound on the BBA 9800 Pro came off very easily, and truly, as some other member posted, using a paper towel to whipe it off and some rubbing alcohol to clean it could be done in less than a minute. I really took my time and was careful, using Q-Tips and some 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. But it was so painless compared to the 9500 card and 9700 card I have worked on. So if you are thinking it is just not worth it bacause of an experience with another card, ATI has made it easier to clean.
