Question Note To Self: Don't Keep Benchmarking Your Brand New SSD All The Time... Sigh.

I have had this new SSD for a bit more than a day, was worried about its sequential read speeds...

After several tests I've finally concluded that the drive's sequential read speed caps out at 7.1GB/s... (~7130MB/s) and absolutely won't go any higher than that, contrary to Kingston's advertised 7.3GB/s... but its close enough...

But this came at a price... I inadvertently managed to, in a bit more than 24 hours, burn through 1% of the SSD's expected lifespan.
I guess that If I kept doing this, in less than a week, the drive's health would be in the 95% range already.

Also noticed these benchmarks add LOTS of writes to the drive. It's as if already had months of heavy use.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I wrote 3 TB to my data SSD in the first 6 hours of ownership, using a tool provided by the manufacturer (Intel). I wanted to observe temperatures.

No consequences whatsoever.

That 1% you are seeing has little practical value.

Your drive could perform perfectly down to 0 percent health and beyond that.
