Notebook ram does not show

Hello,
I've got an Sahara LE 1 series notebook, installed 1gb of ram and took the 256 out. The Bios shows 1gb of ram but windows still shows 256. although its been taken out.

Try going to start, run
MSCONFIG
BOOT.INI
Advanced Options

In there is a check box where you can limit the maximum amount of RAM used by windows. See if it is indeed limited this way, if so, un-limit it.
