[SOLVED] Nothing I try will boot or Reinstall OS X

My MacBook Pro 2009 was working perfectly until today. The Internet recovery is not available on this model. I am running OS X Yosemite. None of the Command key combinations have worked. In OS X Utilities I am trying to do the Reinstall OS X however when it comes to the download stage, I get a message that says that the service is temporarily unavailable. Apple were unable to help. I am wondering if I can download a copy of OS from my windows laptop and burn an install disk? Running out of options! Thanks
